New Zealand SharePoint User Groups > Bay of Plenty User Group

Welcome to the Bay of Plenty SharePoint User Group Site

Welcome to the Bay of Plenty SharePoint User Group site, which is fondly known as BOPSPUG. The BOPSPUG is free to attend and it meets the third Thursday of each month at the envisionIT offices.

The purpose of this user group is to bring the local SharePoint community together to share tips, tricks, and ideas on the uses of WSS and MOSS. The user group features SharePoint experts from Microsoft, Microsoft Partners, and the SharePoint user community. The user group is targeted towards end users, administrators, implementers, project managers, business analysts and developers. The very technical sessions will be moved to the already established .NET User Group, keeping this forum with more of a business focus.

We will have a topic for each meeting but we also want to encourage members to bring their own topics to the forum. Our meetings will be informal so there will be plenty of opportunity to chat with other members both before and after each session. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Sharepoint And Reporting Services

In this session, Rory Birkbeck will describe SQL Server Reporting Services is Microsoft's web-based reporting platform.

All businesses need reporting to establish benchmarking/standards for how they are trekking. Reporting Services now integrates tightly with Sharepoint out of the box. So organisations can access content, documents and reports all from one portal. This presentation will show how to create a quick report and the various options available for viewing it via Sharepoint.

Making Stuff Happen with Web Parts – for Power Users

Web Parts are a fundamental building block for any SharePoint implementation.  A packaged unit of functionality, their breadth and power is a primary enabler for SharePoint’s flexibility.  In this presentation some of the most useful Out of the Box, free and purchasable Web Parts will be demonstrated, canvassing the current landscape.  This session is designed for Power Users, but will be relevant for anyone working with SharePoint.
